Children are the real asset of a society or nation. Its future entirely lies in the hands of growing and developing children and it makes essential for all of us to be quiet conscious about their program and wellbeing in all possible ways. Much of such responsibility falls on the shoulders of the teachers working in the schools and thereby they are named as the destiny or fortune makers of a country. They have to help the developing children in their proper growth and development enabling them to reach the limit of their excellance on one hand and instilling in them the sense of responsibility towards their society and nation on the other. The task is not simple as it seems. It needs a firm determination and thorough knowledge on the part o,fteachers about (i) the process of growth and development going on at the various ages and stages of children development, (ii) the developmental needs and characteristics of the children and adolescents (iii) the Individual differences existing among them and (iv) the ways and means of adopting suitable teaching strategies for helping the students in their proper learning in tune with their developmental needs, individual differences and group dynamics going on in the classroom or other workplace situations. In this connection a teacher has to be a little more conscious and prepared about the adjustment and wellbeing of the various types of deprived or disadvantaged children getting education with the priviledged ones. Now question may arise from where a school teacher should receive the needed help for getting him equipped with all what is in demand for helping the developing children at this juncture of rapid industrailization, globalization, urbanization, modernization and economic change. Surely the first and best opportunity for knowing and learning on the part of a teacher is the pre-service teacher education program and as per M.D.U two year B.ed syllabus
