Sandy Burke is a widow who refuses to go home and sit still, so she works as the head waitress in the local café. With all of the fishermen in town for Lake Sam Rayburn's annual fishing event, Sandy is little concerned about the strange car parked across the street--until it follows her home! She finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and is kidnapped when her car is stolen! Whisked away to Southeastern Arizona, Sandy and her kidnapper bump into a young newlywed couple who are on a tightly-budgeted honeymoon. All of their lives are in danger, since a Mexican drug cartel operates nearby! Sandy's faith in God will get her through, but will it be enough to save her and deliver them all?
About the Author: Part Cajun, Irish, and German, Michael L. Brandenburg was born and raised in Southeast Texas. He grew to love literature in school, and dreamed of writing his own book one day. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English. His studies in literature further whetted his appetite to write. Michael centered his life around teaching in public schools. He married and became the father of four children. However, writing was pushed to the far reaches of his mind only to return now and again as passing thoughts. In 2012, Michael committed himself to earning his Master's Degree, and while pursuing it, he began writing on the side. He finally fulfilled his dream of writing a book, and is now a published author of three titles with two more works nearing completion. Michael and his family currently reside in the northern part of New Mexico, where the beautiful mountains stir his imagination and bring up new stories yet untold. Michael loves to read to his children, and he enjoys when they read to him. Reading and imagining characters and situations are a vital part of his life. Read and enjoy the story is his favorite saying because too often humanity shelves reading in favor of television or moving pictures. Therefore, he challenges everyone to commit to reading at least one book a month.
