Growing Up with Autism I always wanted to be like the other children. Even in my early adult years I wanted to be like them so I could be liked and have friends. Like all kids I just wanted to be popular. I wanted the cool kids to like me. This book will take you on a journey with me as I learned through trial and error to accept and love myself for who I am. Autism or Not I am still a human being with basic human needs and wants. This story is a story of how I learned to communicate my most basic human needs to society in order to get help and also how I began to accept who I was and love myself and my life. It was a long journey and it is still a journey that continues to unfold today. This book talks about dating, relationships, love, and acceptance. There is a section on social thinking which is an advanced social skill I have been learning to help me cope with Autism. Learning this social thinking skill has aloud me to really grow as a person and learn to love myself even more. Enclosed in this book is an intermediate Guide book to help newly diagnosed individuals with autism, new parents who have a son or daughter diagnosed, educators, and other medical professionals navigate Autism.
