This book is an out come of intensive empirical investigation undertaken in two districts of Tamil Nadu on the reported incidence of Female Infanticide/foeticide. Since the topics is highly sensitive the author had to put additional efforts to collect the original data from the respondents in the study areas. He also sought the assistance and helps from leading and committed NGOs for establishing contact and gathered the necessary data in many remote villages/hamlets in the study districts. About Author : Prof. S. Gurusamy holds M.A. degrees in Sociology, Rural Services from Gandhigram Rural University and Annamalai University in Tamil Nadu, M.Phil from Punjab University, Chandigarh, a Post graduate diploma from IGNOU, New Delhi, a Doctorate degree from Gandhigram, Rural University. He has contributed about 60 articles in reputed research journals of National and International journals on themes related to Development sociology, marginalised groups, and social organisation.
