The book is written by well-known historian of the XIX century by Alexander Fomichev Petrushevski (1826-1904), Lieutenant-General of the Russian army. Biography is based on analysis of sources, mostly handwritten and remained unknown at the time, as well as virtually all published literature on Suvorov. The author has studied a lot of documents, but as he admits Petrushevsky, his life would not be enough for a careful and thorough study of all the material at his disposal. In the book the author has spent 8 years assiduous labor. Petrushevsky describes in detail the conditions for the formation of character and generalship genius of his hero, allowing the reader to feel the inexpressible Suvorov spirit. But the study is not limited to otyud retelling of the events of life Suvorov. Petrushevskii very interested in the psychological portrait of Suvorov Suvorov and the nature of the phenomenon in the perception of society. Suvorov is rightly regarded as the Petrushevski unique phenomenon, but the historian makes the following conclusion from this - a unique phenomenon has deep roots, it is by nature a phenomenally and is only an exception to the rule.
