Excerpt from Quinquennial Catalogue of the Trustees, Officers and Graduates and Students Not Graduates of the St. Lawrence University, Canton, New York: 1856-1900

A star prefixed to a name denotes that the individual is deceased. In every case in which the year of the decease is known, except in the case of officers and members of the faculty, it is indicated at the right.

All persons who can furnish information appropriate to the future editions of this Catalogue or of the Obituary Record, are urgently requested to communicate with the Recorder. It is desired especially to keep a full record of the public services, published writings, and literary and scientific work of both graduates and non-graduates; also of their present addresses, and of the dates of death and ages of the deceased.

A book has been opened by the Recorder for the reception of notices of the Alumni. All biographical sketches, newspaper and magazine notices, and obituaries of Alumni, and notices and reviews of their works and services are desired for this record.

An annual catalogue is issued by the University and may be had on application to the Secretary.
